Job Description
Position Summary:
The Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe Krasl Art Center campus including comprehensive building and grounds maintenance plans, janitorial and grounds work, and coordinating with contractors for special projects as needed.

Job Type: Part-Time or Full Time. 25-40 hours per week. Flexible schedule to include event dependent weekend and evening hours.

Salary: Dependent upon skill and competency. The most highly qualified candidate may be eligible for Full Time status with a competitive salary and benefits. 

Supervisor: Reports to the Executive Director. This position works closely with and communicates with each member of the KAC’s staff and volunteer teams.

A high school diploma or GED are preferred, but will consider substantial work experience related to the knowledge and skills required. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, stoop, stretch, reach, climb a ladder, operate basic maintenance tools and equipment, routinely lift 20 pounds 

General Responsibilities:
Special Projects
o Secure bids for special projects, oversee contractors and coordinate with KAC staff.
o Provide support for KAC events both small and large. This may include setting furniture, placing tents, moving equipment, etc.
Janitorial
o Provide regularly scheduled cleaning services for two KAC properties within city block
o Tasks include dusting, vacuuming, mopping, scouring, rubbish removal, etc. for public space, offices, restrooms and kitchen among others.
Grounds
o Provide overall landscaping care including mowing, weeding, minor plant maintenance, rubbish removal, etc. for outside campus.
o Provide basic snow removal for the comprehensive block including shoveling and snowblowing all sidewalks prior to public hours. Coordinate with plow service for parking lot snow removal.
Property Maintenance
o Routinely inspect properties to identify and address needs. Perform basic building maintenance such as drywall repairs, painting, replacing ballasts, clearing drains, etc.
o Draft and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules for three buildings and the grounds within full city block.
o Coordinate with contractors to implement regularly scheduled and special maintenance
o Build and maintain equipment and supply inventory.
Other opportunities - The right candidate may be eligible for additional hours (up to full time, including benefits) if able to demonstrate the capacity and aptitude to support the following:
o Handling artwork in the galleries and in outdoor locations.
o Supporting technical needs including computer networking and program maintenance and phone programming.
o Clean and care for exterior lights and furnishings.
