Job Description
General Duties
The primary duty of the position is to manage development in Berrien and Cass Counties assuring that quality service is provided to JA customers and organizational goals are met. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Junior Achievement organization in Berrien and Cass Counties  that reaches nearly 4,000 students annually with economic education that focuses on financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.
  • Help develop the brand through community outreach, meeting with current and potential donors.
  • Embrace being a community leader, comfortable meeting with business owners and executives to connect them to the JA mission.
  • Lead and inspire a Board of Directors to build a sustainable and growing funding model to meet future needs. Work with the board to generate new funding sources.
  • Maintain, develop & build Board of Directors. Recruit financial institutions to the board or advisory committee. Assist in identifying prospects for expanding committees and boards.
  • Prepare materials for Board and Committee meetings.
  • Manage all board events and logistics.
  • Manage and inspire all fundraising related board committees in carrying out their specific functions so the goals of the board can be achieved.
  • Identify programs to fund with board approval.
  • Manage an Annual Campaign and Partnership process.
  • Research and identify past and new corporate, foundation and individual interests to fund the assigned programs.
  • Provide the necessary information including proposals, partnership tools, etc. for solicitation.
  • Provide follow up and report back information and implement stewardship strategy.
  • Prepare and manage budget projections with the board.
  • Manage the information system assuring that all data is up to date weekly in the database and organization's shared drive.
  • Manage the event budget, establishing goals, tracking revenue and expense actuals to goal and making budget adjustments as needed to meet goals. 
  • Organize and qualify event logistics using a timeline/calendar of tasks.
  • Implement sponsorship solicitation via the partnership process.
  • Manage one program staff member, working together to meet organizational goals.

Education and Work Experience
  • B.A. or B.S. preferred
  • Sales or marketing experience preferred
