    News Release

FAMILY PHYSICIANS OF ST JOSEPH, PC hosting
State Senator Patrick Colbeck and Dr. Chad Savage

Community Presentation “Better Health Care at a Lower Cost”.  The topic is Direct Primary Care (DPC), a new and innovative healthcare model that is growing in popularity in the state of Michigan and across the nation.

FREE and Open to the Public

Senator Colbeck is a proponent of Direct Primary Care and was instrumental in getting state laws enacted to recognize DPC as a model of health care and not a health plan.  He is well versed in the benefits of DPC and free market healthcare alternatives.  Dr. Chad Savage, MD is the owner of Your Choice Direct Care in Brighton, MI.  He has been practicing medicine under the Direct Primary Care model since 2015 and will be sharing his extensive knowledge and experience with DPC.  These two speakers will explain Direct Primary Care, how DPC can benefit the individual and the community, and how it is different than concierge medicine.

    When:   Thursday, August 10, 2017    6:00 PM

Where:  The Chapel, 4250 Washington Ave, St Joseph, MI 49085

Family Physicians of St Joseph will be transitioning to a Direct Primary Care practice on October 1, 2017 and want to offer to the community education and understanding of this new healthcare delivery model and how it can benefit the overall health and wellness for patients.

“We want to get back to the physician-patient relationship being the most important part of healthcare.  We feel with this model, it will allow us the time to engage with patients and not only solve the patient’s present illness of today, but to help and encourage better health and wellness for the future.”  - Leanne Mancini, DO

“DPC will allow us to be there when it is convenient for the patients.  We can use technology to interact with our patients to give the same great care we always have, but it may be via email messages, tele-visits or even text and picture messages to diagnose and treat, where appropriate, without having to come into the office.” – James Gendernalik, DO

“One of the most exciting advantages of Direct Primary Care is that we are able, under a DPC model, to offer discounted pricing on common medications, routine lab testing and even diagnostic testing that will be transparent and predictable to the patients without any shocking bills that show up months later.” -  Allison Meadows, MD

"I have been truly blessed by the relationships that I have developed with my patients and colleagues. Transitioning our traditional family practice to a Direct Primary Care practice will allow me to really focus on those relationships in order to just do what I was made to do...be a family physician. I am once again excited about the future of this unique family practice in Southwest Michigan." – Michael Eggebrecht, DO
